Here are links to artist, creative groups, exhibitions, and anything else I think is worth sharing. This growing list also compiles my influences and work I enjoy. It's my way of getting rid of the algorithms, so you can surf a piece of the net without the sharks. Please get in touch if you have any recommendation.

Adebayo Bolaji A London based UK artist, Bolaji's work is, to me, beautiful. Big, with bold colours and using a balance of form, block shape, and line detail. He creates solid compositions that sing and are firm when in their presence. I first encountered his work in his exhibition In Praise of Beauty at Arnolfini, Bristol. I was blown away by his four meter high painting The Vessel and took to heart a message from his exhibition; pay attention to what YOU find beautiful and you will learn more about yourself.

Gary Fabian Miller
A UK based artist, his work is immersive and evokes an emotive experience felt when in the presence of nature, time, light, and colour. A lot of his works are large abstract boundaries of colour. I was lucky to see him at a talk alongside his exhibition Adore at Arnolfini in Bristol. He said something the the effect of; 'If you stick with it and stay involved in art, things come full circle; friends, colleagues, experiences, there is a serendipity to it.' Which has come to echo in the back of my head.

Phillipa Klaiber
A UK based artist, Phillipa's poetic works focus on the intersection between humans, nature and its's quiet occurrences. I first came across a piece of her's 'Tree, developed in ferns' at Illuminations Exhibition, Centre Space, Bristol, Uk in 2024. A grid of 30 images of the same tree hand printed at to fade out across the group.

Ria Wank
A German artist who creates cameraless images, she uses alternative processes such as chemigram and mordançage, and even works with X-ray paper. She exhibits large-scale pieces, including a stunning work that responds to the forest fires where she lives, complete with a burnt frame. Ria and I exchanged chemigram prints through the post and I look forward to seeing more of her work.instagram

Rinko Kawauchi
A Japanese artist who makes beautiful work. Atmospheric, with a light observation of the world around her. She communicates her curiosity so well.

Wolfgang Tillmans
Based across Berlin and London, his subject matters are diverse, often political orientating around sexuality and gender. His photographic medium choices are just as diverse, including; large scale abstracts, documentary, portraiture, landscapes, appropriated news clippings, book works and more. To me his method of exhibiting this mixed work has been influential. He uses the full space of the gallery to do so. It's this playful mixed presentation and mixed use of photographic mediums that prevented me from pigeon holing myself into one photographic 'style' and keeping the door open with constant exploration of the medium as a way to 'take pictures, in order to see the world.'

Yuuta Iwasaki
A Japanese photographer who also goes by the handle penpenpentax, he shoots analogue black and white street photography, mostly of Tokyo. Shoot, develop, print and repeat; he never stops. He exhibits his monotone work, which has a strong eye for the light and captures Japan's clean clutter so well. We exchanged prints which was very exciting to receive one from all that way!instagram
